My thoughts on the Finale:


The music was awesome and I really liked the episode though it felt more like a series finale since it kinda wrapped up Twilight's main arc.

On the plus side this could be a segue like 'Lesson Zero' and in this case it could be to start expanding the number and focus of Mane characters in the show. I'd like to see more mane & regular secondaries - nothing like G1 which got kinda bogged down in the mammoth army of characters they tried to keep cycling and keep up with.

In any case... All Hail Princess Sparkle!

First off really enjoyed the episode and all the little jokes like Twlight slamming the door in the face of the delivery pony looking for a signature, forgetting Rainbow was tied up in the pot, etc. There was tons of Lyra and Bonbon bits and Sassaflash and Sea Swirl hanging out in the background also a lot of Derpy.
Let's start with her:

Derpy appeared Twice in the pre-opening bit.

I'm guessing they had to save up the Derpy budget for this episode.

The Best Store Ever made a return.

We got a high chance of a Sweet Apple Massacre with Pinkimina Diane Pie running the apple farm... And holy crap does she suck at farming despite being from a farming family (albeit a Rock farming family). Good thing she had that whole baking and partying thing going for her.

Looks like Caramel and Sassaflash are having issues - and they were so cute in 'Hearts and Hooves Day'.

Silver Bits? What is this madness? Also Cherry Berry and the Balloon Again. Also gotta love how Fluttershy needs a balloon to fly to Cloudsdale.

I can only assume Angel Bunny was the Master Mind behind this.

The Memories were great and there were lots of cool bits from RBD being silly (Hub Logo tastes like Candy!)

... And Roll Credits! Also I like how the problem was caused by Twilight going: hrm... I have no idea what this does, I'll just cast it and see what happens! Also this makes Starswirl a sad figure if he couldn't find a counter spell and screwed up his friends.

The Magic Destiny Tunnel reminded me of the end of abrupt end of the Temporal Cold War from Star Trek: Enterprise where the timeline resets and reorganizes itself to fix all the damage from the 'war' (fits with the changing destinies bit).

What are these?

Twilight's Parents - Damn Twilight Velvet looks soo proud. D'aaaw!

I really like Dash's Musketeer outfit... and I didn't like Luna's outfit, it looks kinda ugly IMHO.

Oh also the term 'Alicorn' is now 100% canon for winged unicorns in MLP:FiM.
